Leve Nederland. Over Dromers en Doorzetters, Leiders en Vernieuwers, Helden en Idealisten (Paperback) - Charles Groenhuijsen Groenhuijsen presents a very accesible and nuanced view on the current state of affairs in the Netherlands as a country.

He presents ample counterweight to what the media, politicians, and hearsay would have us believe, by presenting many facts and balancing examples of things that defy the generally pessimistic view that many people in our country have.

On the way, he treats issues like immigration and integration, the economy, education, and health care.

Being a book aimed at a very wide audience, the writing style is often quite superficial, as are the treatments of many issues. However, you can't afford to be thorough when you are tackling a subject of this size. All the same, this makes this a book that's nice to read once, and it will make you rethink your opinion of the country. It's not something to re-read, though.
